The 68th session of the UN General Assembly
has now opened. Over the course of the next two weeks, the General debate will be open. During the
open debate the heads of nations will speak. As these dignitaries come together in New York City,
I will be keeping an eye on some of the key players.
During the coming days,
President Obama is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Netanyahu. It has been reported that Netanyahu
plans on making the focus of the meeting the Iranian nuclear program. Last year at the General debate,
Netanyahu made his memorable bomb with a redline speech to the General Assembly. Since then, “redlines”
have dominated the headlines, primarily the one Obama set for the Syrian conflict, which has now
been moved.
The “redline”
that Netanyahu has set with the Iranian nuclear program has not moved the best I can tell. Netanyahu
and his government know the decision to preemptively strike lies squarely in their lap, a decision that
has recently been described as a decision between “bad and worse.”
Let us continue to keep Israel, Jerusalem, and Prime Minister Netanyahu in prayer.
God Bless, daniel
