Has-Been Diplomats

I was reading an article in Haaretz in which the
following statement was made:
What started off last October as a half-baked and half-hearted suggestion in
Le Monde newspaper by two soon-to-be has-been European diplomats – France’s Bernard Kouchner and Spain’s
Miguel Moratinos - that the Palestinian issue be brought to the UN, has now blossomed into a high-stakes game of political
brinkmanship. http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/mahmoud-abbas-is-having-the-time-of-his-life-1.385590
I looked up the two men and it would appear that both lost their positions shortly after this
article.
Bernard Kouchner - He lost his job in the November 2010 Fillon cabinet reshuffle. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernard_Kouchner
Miguel Moratinos - He has served as Minister of Foreign Affairs in the government of José Luis Rodríguez
Zapatero since 18 April 2004 until 21 October 2010. On that date, Trinidad Jimenez replaced him. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miguel_%C3%81ngel_Moratinos
I find it amazing that the two men credited with creating this idea lost their positions
shortly thereafter.
God Bless,
daniel
