Another Truce and the Sword of David

| thurs, november 22, 2012 |

Update: November 28, 2012, the first homes in Beit El are demolished, even though the government said that they would be moved.

Another ceasefire of sorts has been brokered between Israel and Hamas. A ceasefire, like the countless others before it, will once again prove precarious and unstable at best.

As with all History lessons, the History lessons of the Middle East invariably repeat. Yet, it is the lessons of the Middle East that often evade the memory of the world leaders put to the test. Too often, almost like a curse, these world leaders flunk the exam providentially placed before them, failing yet again, at least as it pertains to Israel, to retain in memory the reality that forcing Israel once again to make concessions with the very terrorists sworn to her destruction is no different than the travesties perpetrated by the world leaders of the 30's and 40's as they offered up irrational appeasement to Führer Adolf Hitler, gross negligence that opened the gates of the Nazi hell and the mass murder of over 16-million people, six million of which were Jews.

Despite this lamentably familiar charade playing out once again before the eyes of humanity, I still have peace. I, like millions of others, still pray for the peace of Israel and for the peace of Jerusalem, not because Psalm 122 encourages those with discernment to pray, rather it is the Holy Spirit revealed revelation that this peace is none other than Yeshua HaMashiach and HIS promise to rule. This gives me peace and clarity as I stomach the tragedy of hypocrisy guaranteed to play out on the screens around the world as the blind attempt to describe the conflict enveloping Israel in vivid color.

Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name: If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever. Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD. Jeremiah 31:35-37

I know who stands behind Israel and I recognize the supernatural forces behind the reinforcement of the plan the I AMhas in store for her. Through the undying and only divinely inspired WORD, we are told, unequivocally, that Israel will carry on. Israel and Jerusalem will carry on even after the nations of the world have crumbled and become as the dust of the Negev. Scripture affirms that Jerusalem is the apple of YAHWEH's eye and that the land of Israel is the promise of Yeshua's inheritance and as joint heirs, our inheritance. No other nation can stake such a claim, or more importantly, place its hope on such a PROMISE. This must be deeply imbedded in the spirit of every believer.

Tragically, yet again, the loser of this truce appears to be Israel. Once again, Israel is fingered as the over aggressor, the state that has "created a monster" and must realize that "peace" will only come when all dignity has been tossed at the feet of the terrorist groups sworn to her destruction, groups that some have even suggested exist because Israel, through its "illegal occupation," has laid, incubated and hatched these rotten eggs. That's the line, that's the rhetoric that Israel faces every time she defends herself from under the shadow of countless racially and religiously motivated terrorist attacks and scores of unintelligibly indiscriminate rocket barrages, volleys that shower Zion like the early summer rains.

So, what can Israel do? How can she escape the endless persecution and hypocritical accusations of ethnic cleansing and genocidal madness lodged at her, ironically from the lips of those guilty of such heinous acts, every time she defends herself from the very enemies that openly and zealously seek her destruction?

She must turn to the Sword of David.

"Our hand is outstretched in peace to those of our neighbors who want to make peace with us and the other hand is firmly grasping the sword of David against those who wish to uproot us from this country."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made this statement on November 20, 2012, the seventh day of Operation Pillar of Defense. The last time he evoked such imagery was during his impassioned speech a little over eight weeks ago at the UN General Assembly, in which he made clear to the world where exactly he draws the "red line" on Iran's nuclear program, a "red line" that the US has still yet to hang in her window.  This declaration by Netanyahu goes back even further than 2012, to April 19, 2010, as Netanyahu addressed an audience at Israel's National Cemetery. As he stood before the backdrop of the fallen, he remembered the scores that had sacrificed everything defending the Jewish heritage over the years, before and after she was once again revived as a nation in 1948. With a serious and firm demeanor he said, "We extend one hand in peace to all our neighbors who wish for peace. Our other hand grasps the sword of David in order to defend our people against those who seek to kill us."

On April 20, 2010, I described who I thought the Sword of David is.

Yeshua ben-David is Jesus Christ, the seed of David and born of the tribe of Judah, He is the WORD.

John states who Jesus Christ is in the opening chapter of his testament of Yeshua ben-David.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. John 1:15

John on the Isle of Patmos describes in greater detail Yeshua ben-David in Revelation 19:11-15

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He Himself. And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He hath on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. (emphasis mine)

So we know that JESUS CHRIST is the WORD and that out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, a sword that is described in Hebrews 4:12 as:

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (emphasis mine)

And even Paul exhorts that the sword of the Spirit is the Word of GOD in Ephesians chapter 6 verse 17.

It is based on this that I feel comfortable connecting the sword of David to JESUS CHRIST, because He is sharper than any two-edged "sword", He is the WORD of GOD, and He is of the seed of David.

Now to connect the sword of David to the siege of Jerusalem.

The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. Zechariah 12:1-3  (emphasis mine)

When looking at these verses in Zechariah in light of the statement made on several occasions now by Netanyahu about the sword of David, the warning, whether intended by Netanyahu or not, becomes very clear in regards to the warnings the Word of the LORD has given within His scriptures of this time in which we live and the events that will quickly follow as nations continue to rise against Jerusalem.

I find it also interesting that the same kind of introduction to the LORD is given in Zechariah as it is in John.

Both note:

The Word of the LORD
The Beginning when all things were made
The spirit (life) of man within him

I can't say for sure that Israel is closer to grasping the Sword of David as it pertains to Jesus Christ, or Yeshua HaMashiach, but I do know that the largest remnant of Messianic Jewish believers to exist in Israel since the destruction of the Temple in 70 AD exists in Israel today. Who knows, the remnant may even be larger than the remnant before the destruction of the Temple, only YAHWEH knows. We must take the advice given to Elijah and not despair when we perceive that there are none left who still intercede on behalf of Israel, the LORD has always had and acted on behalf of HIS remnant.

I cannot say when the Sword of David will lacerate the nations that come up against Israel in the end-times, nor do I believe that the Sword of David is only activated against the nations during the battle of Armageddon as some have said Zechariah chapter 12 describes because I believe that we have seen the Sword of David in action already. I believe this Sword of David is the vehicle in which judgment is administered upon the nations as they act against Israel, or better yet, as they actively act against the plan that YAHWEH has in place for Israel.

If this is the case, than we may be seeing the stage set for a great laceration coming upon the physical land of the USA.

Look into the details of the truce that was brokered.

Egypt brokered the truce.

Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD! Isaiah 31:1

The US, per the instruction of President Obama, urged, or more accurately, pressured Netanyahu, to agree to the Egyptian formulated truce.

I could write an entire post on the current Egyptian leadership and the fatherly relationship it shares with Hamas, not to mention the open disdain it possesses for Israel, but I do not want to distract from the stage that I believe is being set for the coming judgment of the United States of America for her betrayal of Israel and for her overly complicit involvement with the setting up of this radically Islamic Egyptian government as well as the brokering of this truce and the reality that once again, the USA has managed to force Israel into making grave concessions with her sworn enemies.

All we must do is look at the statements released by both the Prime Minister's Office and the White House to see the role of involvement that President Obama had in Israel's agreement to this truce.

Prime Minster Office : "A short while ago Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu spoke with (US) President Barack Obama and agreed to his recommendation to give a chance to an Egyptian proposal for a ceasefire and thereby give an opportunity for the stabilize (sic) and calm the situation before there is a need to use greater force. The Prime Minister expressed his deep appreciation to the President for his support of Israel during the operation and for his contribution to the Iron Dome system. The Prime Minister reiterated that Israel would take all necessary steps to defend its citizens."

White House: "The president commended the prime minister for agreeing to the Egyptian ceasefire proposal, which the president recommended the prime minster do, while reiterating that Israel maintains the right to defend itself."

It is obvious that Obama is the driving force behind the Israeli agreement, as both statements agree with this.

The other thing I would like to note is that many times in the past Obama supporters have attempted to use situations like this to affirm that Obama is, in fact, a supporter of Israel because he respects their right to defense, but what he has not said is their right to offense.

Defense - The action of defending from or resisting attack.

Offense - The act of attacking.

Every great defense has an equally great offense; this creates a sustainable deterrence against the enemy that seeks destruction.

I cannot say that the USA will for sure receive judgment for her role of involvement in the brokered truce, but I don't feel comfortable when I read the role that President Obama has played, nor do I feel comfortable when I see the price that Israel is paying to appease the King of Babylon. Obama has substantially weakened, once again, Israel's position in the region.

I feel that all too soon President Obama is going to have a Belshazzar moment, as the writing fades from the wall, the defenses of this once great nation will have failed, leaving the king of Babylon with no kingdom to rule, no crown, and no throne. Babylon will be punished.

Let us pray for the peace of Israel and for the peace of Jerusalem.

Come Yeshua, come.

God Bless, daniel
